Transport

The main form of public transport in Loch Ness is by bus with the route between Inverness and Fort Augustus on the A90 being run by CityLink. There are around four buses per day in Each direction, these run from Inverness to Fort William and stop and the main towns and villages in the area as well as Urquhart Castle. If you know that you are going to be requiring the bus on a certain day it is cheaper to book tickets in Advance, you can do this on the CityLink website www.citylink.co.uk.

The nearest train station is in Inverness, this is a busy station and from here you can get railway stationdirect to Aberdeen, Edinburgh and Perth. Like the buses it is cheaper to book tickets in advance if you know when you are travelling, you can book tickets at www.scotrail.co.uk.

The only airport in the region is also in Inverness and from there you can get a small number of domestic flights to places such as London on a daily basis.
